ABOUT THE COLLECTIVE
Rebel Music Collective is an entertainment label that was created by Kane Tabiri in 2011. The idea for the Collective came after Kane realized the arsenal of talent that he was surrounded by, namely in his sister, Ama, and his close friend, Charles Tyler. By 2015, Kane and Charles Tyler had formed the hip-hop/R&B group now known as Lo Village, based out of their hometown in Gaithersburg, MD. Read more about the trio here.
Over the next, few years the Collective grew and its musical potential became apparent. Although Lo Village was established as the Collective's first act, the group has gone through different iterations as it has worked to perfect its group dynamics and sound. The most recent iteration came with the addition of powerhouse vocalist Ama, who joined forces with Kane and Charles to give the group its unique R&B twist. Artist development has and will continue to be the cornerstone of the group's sound and long term success.
Lo Village's debut project, "Last Summer" was released in September of 2016 and was met with great reception, with coverage from over 50 blogs including RapNation, Elevator, 2dopeboyz, Dailychiefers, and more. Following their debut effort, Lo Village also released a collaborative EP with local artist Dirty Shafi titled, “For The Birds”.

Since releasing their third project in 2018, Lo Village has been featured in publications such as Earmilk, Fashionably Early, The Plug Society, Black Enterprise, and more. See more of Lo Village in the press here.
